Do you teach complete beginners?

I  do teach beginners and have experience of helping people who have no previous knowledge of playing guitar. Straight away we will look at the kind of music you wish to learn and the skills you need to develop your playing.

Do you teach children?

​

I do teach children and have taught many young students to learn to play the guitar over the years. I teach from the age of 6 years old and upwards - for more information about lessons for young learners don't hesitate to get in touch.

I also have a current DBS  background Check.

Do you teach Electric and Acoustic guitar?

​

I am happy to teach both types of guitar. This could include styles such as classical, Fingerstyle and strumming to Electric Rock and Jazz. Whatever styles you want to learn, it is entirely up to you!

Do I need to own a guitar before I start my first lesson?

​

It is not necessary for you to own a guitar before starting lessons as I have a guitar you can use, however it is preferable that you own an instrument as you will become familiar and comfortable playing the same guitar. It is also nessessary to progress that you have  daily accces to a guitar for practice.

What happens if I need to cancel a lesson?

​

That is no problem at all, just contact me as soon as you can to let me know, preferably 24hrs notice. I appreciate Sometimes unexpected stuff happens, but if possible, some prior  notice allows me to re arrange schedules etc. 

​

Can I study grades?

​

If you wish to persue grades I am happy to help you achieve your goals, and have experience with Rock School or Registry Of Guitar Tutors exams.

​

Do I have to attend guitar lessons every week?

​

No you don’t. Weekly is popular with many as it allows continuity and aids progress, however some are happy with 2 weekly lessons as there is enough material to work on for that period. More advanced players may just pick up a lesson as and when depending on their needs.There is flexibilty and I am happy to adapt to students preferences.

Where are you based?

​

I am based in Boston Spa. I have plenty of teaching resources at my home studio I am also able to travel to you for lessons for surrounding areas, there will be an additional travel charge for lessons held at a student's home as detailed on the "Prices" page.
